The Argentinian Catriel Soto achieved the gold medal in the MTB Pan-American championship in Paipa (Colombia) last Sunday. It was his major goal for this first part of the season and he mirrored last year’s title in Catamarca.
Soto took the lead before completing the second lap and kept a 30-second gap over the Brazilian Luiz Henrique Cocuzzi and Henrique Avancini to the finish line. “El Cacique” raised his Mondraker Podium to Paipa’s sky celebrating a title that confirms him as the best specialist in the continent.
Catriel Soto: I’m very happy to renew this title that I achieved last year. I had trained very well for a long time both in Europe and here in South America with altitude training and luckily I’ve been able to achieve the victory. The circuit suited me very well as it was quite technically difficult. It’s a triumph for my family as they always support me, the sponsors as their help is priceless and, of course, PMRA team which is a great sustenance this season. In a week, I’ll be back in Spain to face the European and World-Cup calendar.
The Argentinian adds this gold medal to the silver one achieved last Thursday with his national team in the Team Relay race.
